Pro Jym is a powdered protein supplement manufactured by JYM Supplement Science's, a company located somewhere in the USA. It also makes a few other products for usage before and after workouts including Omega JYM (Fish Oil Supplement), ZMA JYM, Pre JYM, Post JYM, Pro JYM, Shred JYM, Vita JYM and Alpha JYM. If you take a closer look at these supplements, you will see that they are made up of different types of protein. Even though the official website is professionally made, however, it does not give complete information about each of the products' ingredients and their possible side effects. The founder and head of JYM Supplement Science is Jim Stoppani, a figure who is known in supplement research circles and fitness training. The company was founded in 2009.

According to the manufacturer, Pro Jym is a safe natural testosterone booster that contains a special protein blend for proper muscle growth. This product contains whey protein, egg albumin, micellar casein, and milk protein isolate. In fact, these are different forms of proteins. There are also some essential amino acids. The manufacturer does not add creatine monohydrate or non-essential amino acids such as glycine, taurine, and glutamine. The supplement focuses mainly professional athletes and bodybuilders who find it difficult to get an adequate amount of protein only from their diet.

Ingredients of Pro JYM - Does It Really Work? Is It a Scam?

According to the manufacturer, 24 grams of the Pro Jym protein contain the following ingredients: Whey protein isolate: 7.5 g; Milk protein isolate: 7 g (5.5 g casein, 1.5 g whey); Micellar casein: 7 g; Egg albumen: 2.5g. It is known that milk protein isolate is 20 percent whey protein and 80 percent micellar casein. 24 grams of protein are broken down into three categories: Miceller casein: 12.5 grams (50%); Whey protein: 9 grams (40%); Egg white protein: 2.5 grams (10%). The essential amino acids are also added to the supplement, but the manufacturer doesn't mention which they are exactly. These compounds are necessary for basic physiological functions. I learnt that the product contains nine essential dietary amino acids. The emphasis is put on three BCAAs which are said to be important for building muscles.

Pro JYM

This product has a powder form, so it has to be properly mixed with a certain amount of liquid. This protein powder can be also used in baking to substitute protein content and decrease the amount of carbs. An average adult who is not involved in much exercise needs about 50 grams of protein per day. Bodybuilders need more protein. Vegetarians and vegans usually also have trouble getting protein from their diets. Protein is necessary for creating new tissue when exercising.

Whey Protein Isolate (7.5g) is nothing more than a protein byproduct of the process of making cheese. Due to its affordability, this protein is widely used by supplement manufacturers. However, as whey is available in its natural form, it is not recommended to lactose intolerant people. Whey protein isolate is a purified version of whey. Micellar Casein (7g) can be found in milk. It contains carbohydrates, phosphorus, calcium and protein. Even lactose intolerant can safely consume casein. A small part of the population has a digestive intolerance to casein.

Micellar casein is another form of casein which differs with its own molecular structure which makes it difficult for the human stomach to digest them. It is added to the supplement to provide a slower release of protein to the muscles. It is also promises to suppress appetite and improve mineral absorption. It is also known for its anticatabolic properties which promote the growth of the muscle tissue.

Milk Protein Isolate is a mixture of casein and whey, it also has a higher amount of casein. Like whey protein isolate, however, it has been highly purified so that almost nothing but the protein remains. This provides a mix of the faster-digesting whey and the slower-digesting casein to space out protein intake over time. Milk protein isolate does contain a very small amount of lactose, roughly about 1% of its content, so there is a small chance that those who are intolerant could react to it.

Egg albumen is another name for the white of the egg. It is contained in the dried form in the supplement and is said to be a good source of protein, a small amount of magnesium and potassium. It contains no carbohydrates and almost no fat. However, isn't it better to consume natural eggs? I think it would be much cheaper and more healthy. Non-dairy Creamer mix contains sodium caseinate, sunflower oil, dipotassium phosphate, soy lecithin, tricalcium phosphate, and tocopherols. It is responsible for the supplement's texture and mouthfeel.

Dehydrated Marshmallow Bits are also added to Pro Jym for flavor and sweetening. They also make the texture more appealing. But the main drawback of this component is that it contains a lot of calories, which is not suitable for people who suffer from diabetes. This is a bad diet buster for people who work out regularly and don't need additional calories.

Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium are also sweeteners used in the supplement. But the worst thing about them is that Sucralose is an artificial sweetener that is made from sucrose, while Acesulfame potassium is another artificial sweetener used to mask an unpleasant aftertaste. Finally, Cocoa Powder used for flavor. This is also an energy stimulant and antioxidant.

Customer Reviews - Does It Have Any Side Effects?

This product seems to be a rip off. Its blends are just the trend. I can suppose that they have mixed low quality proteins (casein) with expensive ones (whey isolate). According to the product's label, you are getting 7G casein, 7.5G whey isolate, 2.5G egg, and 7G milk isolate. But are you sure that they really put all those things there? They may be using casein, a cheaper protein. So, you may be actually taking 9G whey, 12.5G casein, 2.5G of egg.

Another concern is that one product's serving contains only 24G of protein. It is too little for a bodybuilder. And if you suppose that most of this protein is cheap and low-quality, the benefit will be even fewer. The other 10G, or 29% is a "filler" used to make it taste good. However, the best way to study the product is to look at real testimonials of the users.

"I don't like the taste of Pro Jym at all. Other brands I have tried taste so much better. I took only two servings and I don't know if I will use it further. I need to pay for the shipping to resend it. I will never buy this protein again."

"Its chalky taste is unpleasant. Pro Jym has the consistency of powered sugar, probably this is the reason why it makes a mess everywhere when you go to scoop it out. I have also learnt that the product contains mono and diglycerides, which is the same as hydrogenated oil, according to many websites. It is a trans fat that is very harmful for health."

"I purchased ProJym a week ago and now I am really confused why this supplement won the Best Tasting Protein of the Year. Its taste makes me regret I have bought it already. Besides, it contains only 24 grams of protein per serving."

Where To Buy Pro JYM?

The supplement can be purchased from the official website of Supplement Science or from Amazon, GNC, Walmart. The standard price for two pounds of the product on Bodybuilding.com is $33 and $55 for four pounds.

My Final Summary

I don't think that Pro JYM can take proper care of your muscles because it has a lot of cons. It is not suitable for those who have a casein intolerance or allergy. The supplement uses artificial sweeteners that can be potentially hazardous for some people. Today, it is only available from one retailer. Besides, there are many negative users' reviews online. Most of them focus on the bad taste of the product, while others claim that it is ineffective due to the low content of protein. If you need real support for your muscle development you are recommended for a more reputable and checked bioavailable formula.

Affordable Alternative

Many modern health specialists are sure that the problem can be perfectly solved by another product known as Crazy Bulk and I completely agree with them because study many products of the kind. I recommend you reading this Crazy Bulk review. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
